I've been having fun with this today. I added the old mill lot to Riverview - the venue is a free download here (https://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=8314506) from the Sims 3 Exchange.
I created a 50 x 50 lot next to the dead end road after I evicted old Cottoneye and bulldozed his lot. I expanded the water to the edge of the lot where I added another lot as close as I could between it and the river. Then I build a waterway to the river. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.
I haven't finished all the details on the mill yet but I thought I'd show off the site.

You did a wonderful job!! What a great idea to add a lot as close to the water as possible to get the look of the stream going all the way to the old mill property. :)

Thank you. I'm very happy with it. It was a lot of trial/error since I've never used the pond/water tools.

I haven't used the pond/water tools a lot myself. I have created a pond before and it was definitely tricky, but fun.
