When I originally built my bakery, I added a frieze to the top to give it more height than just 2 storeys.
When I had to rebuild it, I accidently put the frieze between 2 floors and never gave it another though.
Now I'm furnishing the inside of it and realized that because of the frieze, I can't place stairs to the second floor because it won't go through the frieze. I was going to have to rebuild the whole top of the building.
Then I had a lightbulb moment with no idea if it would work. I would build it on the outside like a fire escape. I wasn't sure if I could make short stairs to go up to the top of the frieze, but it worked. Did anyone else know this or am I late to the party as usual?

I think I kind of knew of that trick, but have never tried it.
I love how the building is turning out. If you're still wanting an internal staircase, you might try the building cheat ConstrainFloorElevation on to see if that might help you place the stairs inside the frieze.

Just tried the building cheat ConstrainFloorElevation on - in a house I forgot to add stairs into the landing of the basement and I am very happy to report that this build cheat works!! Whoot!!
My theory is since it works for basements it should work for frieze. :)

I actually kind of like it the way it is so I'm not going to mess with it. :)

Got a silly question, LaPaige. Why put three windows on the second floor when there are only two on the first? :o
I have this thing, that I need windows to not be that close to a door (or the end of a wall).
I know that is just me, though ::)

You're absolutely right. I originally had 3 across the top when I didn't have the door there. I wasn't thinking and just moved them all over. I like things symmetrical too and would have removed it except that I was so excited about my "discovery" that I just had to share. :D
