This article assumes you have your CC organized and you're familiar with what CC you have so you can pick out the pieces to then add to the build's folder. See this post (https://jadekitten.net/mfhot/index.php?topic=27.msg31#msg31) for an example of my mods folder.
1. I like to create a folder on my desktop that I'll be adding the files to.
How to Make a Folder: Right-click on desktop > New > Folder - Type in name of Build.

2. Save your lot to the in-game library. I'll take Forrester for example.
Go to Edit Town, click on lot and click on either the Save to Library button (folder as shown in Yellow) or the Share button (arrow - as shown in Pink).

✿ A detailed how-to on this can be found in this post (https://jadekitten.net/mfhot/index.php?topic=407.msg4831#msg4831). - How To Save Lots to Library
3. I create a sub-folder for the CC I use for the build and copy the files into it.

This is a personal preference - you could create other sub-folders just inside the main build folder (Forrester), if desired to help organize your custom content more. I didn't use a lot of CC on this build.
I create a screenshots folder for all of the screenshots of the build (so I can tell what it is), along with a text file (done in Notepad) that has information about the build.
As you might be able to tell from the screenshot above, I like to save my builds as library files. This is so it's easier to install into the game.
It is an known issue that .Sims3pack files can hold bad cc in them and cause issues. This is another reason why I like to save my builds from the Library folder.
