I am not good with trying to take photos standing over the house/build, so I've decided to try a shell build by sharing the lot in hopes that will help. See attached zip file (https://jadekitten.net/mfhot/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=507.0;attach=180). You can use 7-zip (https://www.7-zip.org/) to extract the file.
I'm adding a photo of the floorplan of the shell. It maybe a little easier to have both the lot and a screenshot of it's floorplan. lol

Same rules apply, as like the other Shell Build Challenges:
~ Rules and Information:
– Keep the outer walls the same as what's in the original shell and screenshots shared.
– Can add a garage, foundation, porch, basement or more floors as desired.
– Use Any sized lot you want.
– Indoor walls can be done however you like.
– Additional floors and basement(s) can be whatever size.
– Custom Content can be used in build.
– Use the lot shared, or recreate it if you like on a lot of your choosing.
– Does not need to be furnished.
– Submit progress screenshots and details of the build as you build via a new post in the thread.
– Save a copy of the original shell screenshots to your desktop and rotate/flip in Paint it to get different ideas for the build.
– Can Share/Upload the build afterwards.
– Those who host these challenges can participate, as long as they rotate/flip the shell/lot.
----
Teeny-Shell.package goes into:
C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Library
– Can be found in Edit Town > in-game library, in the empty house tab.

I started the build on a 20x20 lot, but am thinking of moving it to a 20x30 or 30x30 lot. I want to add a deck and have room for a yard.

The house was to be a more modern-ish house. However, it decided that it wanted to be a log cabin style home. I switched over to building in Sunset Valley, on a 30x30 lot.
1st screenshot is of me trying to decide on some wall coverings. While discovering that the house was sitting to far back on the lot, so I started over with a new copy of the house.
-
I really wanted to make a 1/2 story with a bedroom and bath upstairs, but not mess with the roof all that much. Not sure how to explain that, but I got it to happen and it doesn't look bad. lol

-
I tried to move some inner walls to see if that would help the over all feel of the house and it's not. I -love- the outside look of it. The inner is just not working for me and I made the kitchen too big. lol I want more room in the living room.
I don't quite consider this a fail, but am going to do a few tweaks to the shell itself and see if I can have the inside look as good as the outside.
-
I ended up editing the original floorplan. For some reason I felt that was a little easier to do than try to re-work everything from scratch. It's the one that is attached to the first post.
I really like how this one came out, feels a lot more roomy. Click images for larger view.

I just downloaded the shell. I'm currently working on another shell challenge from my FB group, but I think it's about done. I'm really needing more housing in this world, so I'm going to try and get some done in the next few days.
Yours is really cute. I love the all the deck space - it makes the little house seem twice its size.
-
Thank you for the compliment!! :)
The deck does make a big difference. I love how the back of mine turned out.
I look forward to seeing what you do with the shell.

I finally got my game working so it will let me build. I finished the Teeny house. I was going to go back and add some stuff, but I forgot to delete the fridge and Boyd Medley moved in with his niece Lakisha South. Boyd's sister and her husband died in a plane crash, leaving little Lakisha without parents. Although Boyd is a natural loner, family is family, so he took her in and is raising her. They recently moved to Adventureland where Boyd took a teaching job. In addition to loner, Boyd has the savvy sculptor, artistic, bookwork, and schmoozer traits. I don't know how he can be both a loner and a schmoozer. I guess he can schmooze when he has to, but doesn't enjoy it. Here's their house (the teeny shell challenge).

You did an awesome job!! The house looks a lot bigger inside. lol :)
-
I've done some basic furnishing/decorating with this house and wanted to share. Click images to see larger view.

So it's a bit more than basic. lol It started out basic and then I started playing with the house. That's when I added the green house and garden.
The house is now available for download! ~ Haddie (https://jadekitten.net/mfhot/index.php?topic=539.msg6787#msg6787) ~ Residential (30x30)

It looks lovely! I also love your greenhouse and garden area.
-
Thank you!! I think the greenhouse turned out pretty cool too. I don't think I've done the garden boxes in awhile like what I've done here.
