The Tea Room / Well this is Fun
« Last post by Lapaige46 on September 20, 2025, 02:52:53 PM »
Ramona is hard at work in her rabbithole where she's the receptionist at the spa. While she's busy I thought I'd see what else was going on there. I was very surprised! Sims are actually using the facilities! Yay!

Description:

This house takes inspiration from a farmhouse Cheeseweasel built. (Thank you!!)

I built it with it facing the street and all the other building pieces fell into place.

The place has an unfurnished attic and basement. The barn is mostly unfurnished. It has a gem grinder and art easels up in the barn loft.

It does have some harvestables on the lot in various quality, cause of course I'm playing a couple of gardening Sims again. :)

The house was built on a 40x40 lot using Builder's Island. This is where most of the screenshots of the house have been taken as well. The first screenshot shown to the left of the house information is from my save file in a desert town.

You get both the unfurnished and furnished home in one zip file.

I wasn't really happy with the grey tones I saw in the finished version of Olive. So I decided to brighten it up a bit-ish.  Wanted to keep with country feel to it though so I used some wood tones and moved in a family temporarily to add things in their favorite colors, of purples, blues, pinks and orange.

I like it a lot better now. lol :)

There's furnished and unfurnished versions as well as more screenshots in the zip file attached.

* Price On Lot: §85,607. ~ Furnished
* Price On Lot: §52,596. ~ Unfurnished

Same attic and basement spaces like in the original for you to make more rooms or whatnot for a growing family, and various harvestable plants of different qualities.

Either Ramona is having some kind of event or she's glitched.
This is Ramona making breakfast.

She's also nowhere near the kitchen. She's standing at the top of the stairs. When she sat down to eat she completely disappeared. I suspect that it's the stairs that might be glitched though she went up them ok to go to bed.

Edit: I just sent her down the stairs and she went just fine. Things that make you go hmmmm...

I realize how out of touch I am with this game. I was trying to fix a few things in Ramona's save but I seem to have forgotten how to do stuff. More hmmmm....

Yeah, that looks like some kind of routing error. Sometimes I figure out how to fix these and other times I can't. Stairs are usually the problem though.

Do you have WA? What if you were to send either or both off to (different) distant lands for a while.
Josie could go to Egypt to research tombs or Ben could go to  "Gay Paree" to flirt with the medemoiselles and gather artifacts for the school.
The current status of my brain is like a large plate of spahgetti...strands going every which way. :D I don't even remember where I'm at with my own game. I think I'm just checking on all the families in turn to see what they're up to.

Getting one or both of them out of town and off on their own adventures might be just the ticket. I think I have an idea . . .

I did a quick read to refresh my memory but what I learned about Ben is that he's inappropriate, works at the school, likes to fish and comes from a wealthy background. Is that correct? What are his traits?

Ben is inappropriate, a slob, a party animal, an angler, and athletic.

Josie is eco-friendly, a green thumb, a schmoozer, irresistible, and artistic. (They don't have one trait in common.)

He and Josie have known each other since they were kids in school.

She chose to marry Joe over either of the Culpepper boys, though both men are fond of her and find her attractive even now. (Chuck however has found someone else, and she's a good fit. I kind of pictured Josie and Chuck together if she had to get together with anyone, but he's moved on.)

Ben was inappropriately pursuing Josie's granddaughter Hannah, making unwanted romantic overtures to her. He was pressured by the school board to retire due to being an HR nightmare.

For some explicable reason, Story Progression is insistent that Josie needs a man in her life and he's the only male elder available. I could drop a few more eligible bachelors into the game, but it still wouldn't explain why someone like Josie (at least how I picture her) would even consider a romantic relationship with such a guy. Friendship maybe, but not romance.

It's perplexing, but I'm determined to make sense of the pairing somehow rather than cheat it away. I'm thinking that Ben has pulled her under his influence through some nefarious means, and I may need to add a dashing silver-haired eco-friendly gardener to the mix to rescue her.
