Good idea to use it as an excuse to make over Sims homes more to your liking. lol

Are you still trying for maxing the LTW?  I have it set to that so to speak. But I am not sure I'm going to go that far.  As I've never in all my times trying this career have figured out the magic formula to get a great/top score.

Their daughter is cute!! :)

Are you still trying for maxing the LTW?
Depending on how frequent those top scores will become later on - yes.

lol

For me it depends on how much better I can get at the renovations. If I continue to get low scoring ones I won't be trying for the goal of maxing the LTW.

I'm having Melani paint to help pass the time between jobs (usually doing it over night). But she's not getting job experience for it. I'm thinking possibly it's due to maxed painting skill?

I thought ? active Sim still gained job experienced even if skill is maxed. If it relates to the career. At least that's how it worked for PI career and Logic. I watched while the job experience lit up while Melani was playing chess in my PI save.

Tip: Darker icons may be left over jobs from the previous day. - The icon in the upper right is slightly darker than the other two in the photo.

Tip: If doors/windows can't be placed due to too close to stairs.. move the walls.

I have to agree with Nindigo if I haven't already. Doing the renovation to suit yourself is very satisfying. So when you get a terrible review, you can still feel good that you've done an awesome job on the renovation.

Somebody should be really taking photos of some of their renovations. *Blush*

I've updated my AD Journal and cleaned it up a bit too...

My VJ has been painting extensively between jobs - I could've told you that it doesn't provide any job exp, because he started out with maxed out painting skill :-[

My Miraj, who started the PI profession with maxed out logic, never participated in logic-based activities, so I wouldn't know if that would have provided any exp.

I had a feeling that's how it works with the AD career and Painting. It seems they get more job experience from the renovations than anything job-skill related.

Thanks for the confirmation!! :)

I don't think there's any job-related skill to the AD career other than painting is there? I never thought to check that. lol

Looking at VJ's job responsibilities window, it says 'remodelling', 'painting' (if not maxed), 'reviews'. So, no - no other skills appears to pertain to this profession.

The issue with painting not giving job exp might be a bug, since logic-based activities give exp to investigators, and turning in captured spirits gives exp to ghost hunters. It looks like a pattern to me - a main skill, the jobs themselves, and a side activity to provide job exp. I have no idea about the other professions, but maybe we could "investigate" further after this little project?

Thank you -so- much for the dark side cookies and hugsies!! That brought a smile to my face!!

Oooh great idea to investigate if it's a bug that painting doesn't give job experience. As like you said, it should. The other professions get job experience from their job-related skill.

Another tip:

If you don't really want to change residents' home, you can just place items that don't fit in - that way, you can easily spot them after the job and remove them :P

Thanksies!!
