No you don't need to have a SimFileShare account to download from SFS.

I downloaded and installed it. It's mostly unfurnished. It has some basics in it - lights, kitchen and some hanging plants. It does have CC Windows and Doors.

It's a beautiful lot!! :)

Here's the original. It's located in the French Quarter.

What's Bender Up To?
« Reply #532 on: May 20, 2025, 01:32:39 PM »
Bender has obtained his archeology degree and received his first assignment. He is to travel to Egypt and bring back 3 turquoise gems. But before he goes, since he's pretty stressed out I'm sending him to Gabby's for a bit of fun.

Bender Goes to Egypt
« Reply #533 on: May 20, 2025, 05:08:18 PM »
Well this is something new to me.

Bender arrives in Egypt  . It must have been a calm flight and he was able to sleep because seemingly none the worse for wear, His personal needs were met and he was ready for adventure.

Upon arrival he checked out the bulletin board to see what was on the agenda.

He was instructed to meet some folks who would inform him as to what he was to do next so he picked up a spiffy little ride and zipped off to his meeting.

During this meeting he was given a some food and advised to to to the market and purchase a tent, some dried food, and a shower.
Then he was given a quest. His contact was missing some documents so Bender was asked to visit particular tomb to recover the papers.

Next: To Market , to Market.

Bender Goes to Egypt 2 - Shopping, Tomb Raiding, Mission Accomplished

After visiting the market and purchasing the necessary items, Bender hops on his ride and heads into the sesert in search of tombs (and turquoise).

Lucky for Bender, turquoise seems to be just sitting around for the taking.

Bender approaches the first tomb and ponders how to get it open. After feeling around on the door a clue, the door magically opens.

Facing the unknown he steps in to do what Great Explorers do...Explore.

What do we have here? *Don't open it, Bender! Remember what happened to Indiana Jones! It might be full of snakes!!*
Bender isn't going to let a few puny snakes get in his way. Fortunatley there seems to be a treasure inside. It's a relic worth a few simoleons1 Yay Bender.

Stepping carefully he finally reaches his goal and finds the missing documents and returns them to the rightful owner earning himself a bonus and a promotion.

Did you ever manage to solve the Bender issue? It occurred to me you could save him to the library, start a completely new save file, place him in it, and attempt traveling again - especially if you have Nraas Traveler installed now. If you haven't deleted the save where he's made the progress, and you save him from there, he will most likely have his turquoise and any other items he originally had in his backpack as well as his current skill levels.

This is a first. Bender was invited to a party and for the first time since I've been playing this game, the Sim actually attended the party. Lots of people there but all he did was stand in the front hall and talk to himself and yawn. Then he went home to sleep.

after completing a couple of small quests, Bender has been sent out to explor tombs.
I've learned I have to pay attention to little tricks. Bender needed to collect 4 turquoise gems. He found several uncut stones and it took me a minute to realize that I could have them cut. Nothing happened until I discovered he put the uncut stone into the mail and received cut stones back in the mailbox. It's not nice to play tricks on my addled little brain.
Anyway, during his exploration of the first tomb he discovered he needs to collect something from China before he can continue in Egypt. The good news is that he successfully returned home to rest up, put in a copule days work and head out to China. So far, so good.

Bender is at home resting up for his next adventure. He was invited to another party which he attended. It was a pool party though no one wanted to get their hair wet so no one was swimming.

Bender socialized and tried to schmooze Taylor Gwynne. He rtried once before to gain her interest but wasn't terribly success ful. It didn't go terribly well this time either.

Oh, Bender. It's no wonder your social life is in the dumpster.
