Yep, that's fine. I didn't mean for you to do anything with it today, per-se. I was more you and Nindigo were talking about it, so I thought I'd share the notes we had on it so you can refer back to them later.

I needed the lot that the original building was on so I just plunked it down somewhere else for the time being. I'm considering using some World of Wonder bits and pieces. I have a couple of 64x64 lots available that might be fun to use, but, as I said, that's for another day. I didn't even load the game today.

My first ever sims and eventually a sim couple have just adopted a baby. (It's no accident that daddy David looks like Shemar Moore. )

Ashley Simpson is now Vice President and is just short of being Leader of the Free World. David is in the Architecture Career and is doing very well. Ashley will be going back to work tomorrow and David will stay home to take care of baby Cassie. In a couple of days she'll age up to Toddler so then I can see if she will be brought to the daycare.

Sometimes this game frustrates me so badly. 
I've been trying to sort out the relationship thing and Ashley keeps coming up as Cassie's grandmother. I think I have it sorted and then she ends up as an aquaintance. ARGGHH!
I wonder if it's got something to do with the fact that Ashley is still using her maiden name even though the relationship shows husband/wife.

How come they adopted instead of just having a kid the "normal" way?

I rarely use adoption, because the adopted child always is an indistinct pudding face the randomly generated townies.

If the problem persists, my advice is to try and delete the child and retry the adoption.

I just wanted a quick baby because I'm just testing to see if/how this one interacts with my daycare.
Besides, I think she's pretty cute. For now I'm pretending that she's not adopted and gave her a little makover. If daddy had hair it would be curly and I gave her mom's auburn hair.

You can use Master Controller to produce an instant baby with your choice of father. It's way faster than adoption

I used MC to adopt. Baby was left on the porch instantly. It probably amounted to the same thing.

I'm just fast forwarding to get them though the weekend so I can see if they take her to daycare. That's the whole point of this exercise but it's taken days because I've been busy and my game crashed on me a few times.

It's now Sunday morning and dad's making french toast while mom relaxes. Cassie's schedule needs to be altered because she was awake most of the night.
