I love the cute photos!!  That's a great idea to setup a save with aging off. :)

Yes, cute photos. I always have aging turned off. I get a kick out of the little kids and hate to see them grow up. I'm the same way about my own grandchildren but unfortunatley I can't stop them from aging.

I saw my almost 19 y/o granddaughter the other day for the first time in over a year and last night I went to dinner with my out-of-town son and 16 y/o grandson who are in town for a hockey tournament. It's been a good week. :)

The kids are absolutely adorable, but...they can't procreate and continue the dynasty ;)

Once again, I gave in to Miraj's wish for another kid now that their current one just started school. They got her engineered at the hospital as usual which takes half an in-game day. Her name is Aya Nubia Alvi.

On a another note, I started up a new VJ and Miraj in a fresh save in Sunset Valley, aged them up, and disappeared their dad, Iqbal. I've done this before, but this time, they feel attracted to each other which is important to me. I've never put together Alvis who did not feel a mutual attraction. So, yay :)

I'm still curious about the look of new offspring. It's like when I explore landscape in Minecraft. Although the biomes are always the same five or more types, they always come in a new and different layout. It keeps exciting me. It's the same obsession with Alvi genetics...the little differences here and there make me appreciate them all.

Hmm. I think I may finally know of a good career for my VJ. He would be among the inappropriately outspoken ones. Cool.

From Dictionary.com:

Informal.
1. Also V.J. video jockey.
2. a video journalist; a person who works as a reporter in television news broadcasting.

That sounds really cool. Where do you find new careers?

I've never created a dynasty so aging up isn't a necessary thing for me. Having said that though, it's been a long time that I've really played the game and even then it was with my own handful of sims that I played in rotation. I had 3 guys and 3 gals with the idea of pairing them up but only couple ended up together. They were all friends but I couldn't seem to get the others interested in each other. The game moves too fast so I didn't have time to promote the romance most of the time. I like the MOD you posted a while back about slowing sim time. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I will if and when I need it and I can remember how. :D

The sun is lighing up my glass cabinet right now. I never get tired of it.

Well, the journalist career is a basegame feature found along with the business career by clicking on the Doo Peas Corporate Towers downtown :)

Remember that you can change the lifespan of Sims as well in settings.

I wasn't aware of that for career options. I though they were just a result of traits. Thanks.
I did know that I could change the sim's life span. :)

If you spend more time in live mode, try clicking on the various venues like the police station, day spa, hospital, ect. They all contain careers for your Sims.

I have a few "extra" careers from Nraas and MC. One is architect and another is stylist. I have built a spa/salon/tattoo parlor in RV and my stylist works there. I even have a couple with stay-at-home moms and the proprietor of the bed-breakfast/rooming house and I have those as homemakers. I think that's what it is - I'll have to check next time in in live. I'll invesitgate other possibilities as well because I didn't know about city hall and I was tired of the same-old basic careers. Some of my sims just didn't fit any of the offered career options. Ramona Singer, for example, who in real life is a New York socialite - business woman - clothing designer - wine distributor, etc... all done by other people and she just puts her name on the products and gets paid for it. Nice life if you can get it. I don't think that career option is available in-game. :D

The game offers something similar with the following expansion packs installed.

Basegame offers the business career
Nightlife offers a fame system for various accomplishments and new careers such as movie star
Ambitions offers the fashion designer profession and employment based on various skills such as gardener, writer, painter, etc.
World Adventures offers nectar/wine making and with Ambitions also installed, as employment
University offers some social media features
