I think it's kind of silly myself, but then I guess I'm just old and little of this PC stuff makes sense to me.

Thanks for the link. I'm sure I've taken pictures of some of those places myself. Having done several road trips around the country I usually want to search out the older part of the cities we visited so I have scads of pictures of all types of architecture that are featured in different parts of the country from San Francisco Victorian to deep south plantation houses, to Carolina Coastals, etc. That's my thing (which I may have mentioned a time or two. :D)

No, go ahead. I'm just trying to decide what size lot to put mine on. I'm trying to put it on the smallest lot I can so that it can be placed on a bigger lot rather than starting it on a large lot. So I'm just starting to lay it out on Builder's Island.

And my sister is chatty this morning and keeps texting me and derailing my train of thought. :D

Awesome!! Thank you!!

A 30x40 lot was requested.  Though the house could be built on a 30x30, for example and then moved to a larger lot.

You might already know how to edit the house details, but just in case I made a how2 on it.
here

I've put together my post on the new house!!

Walton ~ Residential (30x40)

I just saw it. It looks good. As usual I'm tormenting myself with the roof. I have a particular vision and the roof is not cooperating at all. I have to learn to be more flexible. :(

I'm fidgeting with a build myself and wanted to pop in and let you know having a basement isn't a requirement. I just have a habit of adding basements to most of my builds. lol

Ohhh speaking of the roof I had a heck of when I was trying to do the roof. I am not used to working with the octagon roofing, but was able to work something out that I am very proud of.

I don't really have any tips on roofing other than play with the different angled roof pieces to find which one will work best for what you're trying to do.

I know. It's always a struggle for me because I seem to end up with complicated roofs. Working with diagonals doesn't mesh will with straight. I might try the octagon to see if that will work better. This could take a couple of days. :D

I've played around with the vertical roofing and haven't had problems with it. You have to pull and push the roofing different ways. I am so not explaining that correctly.

When I am fidgeting with different roof types I try placing them different ways from the front, back or even the sides. Trying to make it all come together and look nice.

I can try to help if you'd like?

As usual, I'm trying to make things do what I want them to do and not the way the game is designed. I've got one on now that is satisfactory. Not quite the look I was going for but that's the usual game limitations. And that was just the porch!! :D

I'm about to tackle the main roof now.

Are you taking progress photo? lol  Or you too disgusted to do so right now?  If so I completely understand. :)
