Oohhh my goodness!! Lapaige look at the difference these windows make!! World of difference and helps it look -so- much better!! It's the look I was hoping for!!




I'm using a mix of hipped, half-hipped, gable, tall gable and half-gable.

Yeah, I know *Giggle* the house in it's full glory needs a 30x40 long or bigger... But I gotta try it. lol

Before I forget, I've been meaning to ask if you want a copy of the fence/railing I'm using?  Or did you find something already?

The windows are exactly right. It's really coming along. I'm way behind.
I'm working on a railing now. I think I have what I'm looking for. I don't have Supernatural so I think I'm going with a Mutske.

I remember you mentioning not having supernatural so when I was playing with just base game installed I cloned a few of my favorite pieces from some expansion packs. And the fencing/railing was one of them.

If you want to try it out, I can share it with you?

I'm having a hard time thinking of some examples of colors for this type of house. Do you have any suggestions?

Houses of this era usually had a horizontal siding with areas of shingles. They were usually a solid color with contrasting trim. They were also white with a dark trim.

If you Google 1912 house colors, you'll find lots of ideas. I think I might go with medium grey with white trim. I might do the bottom in horizontal siding and the top in shingles. Not sure yet. I haven't got that far.

I'm trying to stay away from grey as that's the color of the house I recently built and played with for a bit and it was kind of giving me sad vibes because of it. Even though it's a cute house.

I'm happy that we went with a bigger 30x40 (long lot) or 40x40 lot... Here's what it looks like 40x30 (wide) lot



The kitchen isn't as big and no room for the back porch. Not good!!   Doing this test, reminded me why I went with the 30x40 (long lot). When first building the house I went with a 20x30 (long lot) and ended up with a similar issue.

Time to reboot my computer and then search for house colors.

No windows yet but I got the look I was after for the porch. Game is giving me fits today. Jumping and lagging like crazy. I've shut down twice already after clearing everything. :::grumble:::

The weather is crazy today. It was hailing quite heavily so I ran out and pulled all my flowers under cover and now the sun is shining.
