MrsFlynn's Tacky Shell Challenge #4
« on: February 12, 2023, 11:28:03 AM »
These challenges aren't about competing against each other, they're about sharing screenshots, tips, trick and help each other with our builds. I enjoy seeing how our builds turn out.  We have different building styles so whatever we're working on comes out unique. :)

This looks fun. How do we submit our entries when we are done?

Submit progress screenshots and details of the build as you build via a new post in the thread. Look over any of our previous build challenges to get an idea of what I'm talking about. You can share screenshots by Add Image to post button under the message box.  How to Add Images to a Post ~ Using Imgbb Image Mod

*Optional* Can Upload build to either Houses or Community Lots when finished, if you'd like to share.  How To: Upload a House or Lot to the Media Room Board.

Thank you for the reminder to add this information to the rules and information section in the first post. :)

Made 2 shells. One on a 30x20 lot and the other on a 25x20 lot.

Thinking in the way it gives me more options when I go to place it on a 30x30 lot. As my rule for myself is that I have to flip or rotate the lot.

I ended up choosing the shell that was on the 25x20 lot and added it to a 30x30 lot. Adding a stairwell for basement, foundation and inner walls.

Not sure if the windows - Mutske's (Windows Country) go with the house. Love the windows, just not sure if the fit the feel I'm wanting to go with.

Yep, I understand. If it helps ?? you don't have to furnish it ifin' you don't want to.  :)

Since my last post I tried different window sets, most of which I didn't like all that much and didn't go with the look I am after.  Until I found Mutske's Victorian Windows Add-on. What a perfect fit and love the doors that came with it as well. Errm.. The trees are in the way of getting a screenshot of the other side of the house. I'll fix that once I'm back in-game.

Looking good!

I decided I was going to finish the Daycare challenge before carrying on with the builds.

I started the shell too. Here's what I have so far. I thought this house wanted to be a Victorian, so I gave it Mansford roof, but now I think it wants to be a craftsman. I guess it's a Craftorian. I just figured out how to use the diagonal foundation to make the corners. I learn something new everyday it seems.

I love that - Craftorian!! Great description. Awesome job!! I love the roofline, windows and the burnt Orange ? color.  Looking forward to seeing what you do with the inside. :)

I'm stuck on what siding I want to add to the house. lol
