I usually share things via the Sipping Tea thread. I don't really share a lot in the way of play screenshots, so I don't feel one for me specifically is needed.

BTW, I like having individual threads to share our stuff. I don't feel like I'm monopolizing the board. MrsFlynn, you should have one too. Flynn's Flat or something like that.  ;D

Etc.

That's actually a great little tutorial, Nindigo. (and I'm happy to see you back. :) )

I'm glad to be of help.

My Simmies always call me back sooner or later from whatever else I might be doing. Plus, I'm emotionally attached to you guys ;)

I went to play my "test" family today and ended up remodeling their house instead. lol  Giving it a basement so each Sim in the family has their own room.

I wanted to try to keep the shape of the house as close to original as possible.  I think I did pretty good with that.  It's still furnished with mostly original pieces.

Here's some photos. :)

I kaching-ed them some funds to help build the house. Didn't want to quite do that yet for the furnishings.  I might do that later.

How do you add the basement stairs through the foundation, MrsFlynn? Did you make the basement first on an empty lot and then placed the house over it later? Or do you use a cheat?

PS: Thanks for moving this thread above the sunroom - old habits die hard, was always clicking the sunroom by accident ;D

lol I was too. *Blush* So I was like why not move it so the Tea Room is first. :) As I check it first.

House renovation - This is one of the times I actually left the family on the lot. lol

I removed the roof fully.

The half that I added the stairs too, I removed the furniture, walls, furniture, lights and whatnot, put what I could in the family inventory.

I removed a little bit of the foundation and then drew out a rough shape of the basement at first. Placed the stairs and then drew out the rest of the basement and started putting things back together.

It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be because the house lended to the renovation well. A house more furnished/decorated maybe more difficult to renovate.

Saved the wall coverings to wall pieces I placed out in the yard. So I could copy them back into the house.

If you'd like I can see if I can come up with a how to to help give you a visual?

No, it's fine - I can easily visualize the process based on your description. Thank you for sharing. Also, it looks good - congrats :)

Okay, cool!! :)

I wasn't sure if that'd be enough or not. lol Cause sometimes I don't describe things as well - where photos would help describe what I am talking about.

Thank you!! I thought I did a pretty good job as well.
