No need to help. Something is also wrong with the way I set up SP in the first place, because male pregnancy did not complete (the pregnancy terminated itself before becoming known to the Sim). Setting SP up to handle male pregnancy is a hassle, which is why I prefer to use pollination without SP installed. But SP is good for when you can't deal with manually managing an entire town.

Do you guys never build in bricks? Bricks are by far the most common here in Denmark. Red, yellow, white and grey bricks. Concrete appartment buildings are often found in bigger cities. Our house has yellow bricks, but has been painted white. For which I'm glad, because we have a red tile roof. That would look awful with yellow bricks.

I'm wanting to try and build an old fashioned inn with half-timbering one of these days.

In Canada, it's mostly wood frame houses. Stone was used more than brick in the early days in Western Canada and it's used today in some very expensive homes. Trees are plentiful here so it was always cheaper to use wood rather than brick or stone. Brick or stone is often used as trim on houses. Several of the homes that I've lived in have had some stone or brick somewhere, usually at the base of a porch post or something but it's just decorative and is applied as you would apply tile.

In Eastern Canada, Ontario or Quebec and beyond, you'll see more brick homes though most of the time it's just used as a facade on the front of the house.

The same is true for the US as well and concrete and glass is the North American standard for high-rise buildings.

Some of the older buildings are made of brick, maybe concrete. The homes seem to be like what Lapaige said, wood frame and various sidings, sometimes using fake brick or stone.

It's interesting how building is done differently. We mostly have wood frame houses in coastal areas and in the northern part of our country. In Sweden, our neighbor to the north, they have plenty of forest, and wood frame houses are the most common thing there. Same in Norway and Finland.

I'm wanting to get back to my garden challenge save, but not feeling like playing with a big family at the moment.  More feeling like playing a one or two Sim household. lol
