If I am remodeling a house in my play-save and the lighting is too dark, I'll take it into a new-test (temporary) save to get photos so I have better lighting.

For me it's easier to see in the daylight than in darker photos. It's a matter of personal preference.

Can't you just wait until it's morning in the save where you built it?

Depending on what time it is in-game I do wait till morning. Sometimes I just find it easier to Save the house to library and take photos of it in a new temporary save.

Well, at least fully grown harvestables in The Sims 3 don't revert back to planted state like they may or may not do in The Sims 4. *sips*

Gardening is one of my favorite things to do in The Sims. It's difficult to not be bothered by the lack of/slow progress of gardening bug fixes.

So, right now, I'm enjoying some time in Twinbrook. Ericka is preggers, so she needs a little taking care of

Oh, and sweet Prem is watering his fellow plants on his own accord. I miss Mac. I wish a household could be of unlimited size.

Busy day today. Not much time for simming. This morning my sister and I are bottling wine and I have to pick up some groceries. Then this afternoon we're going out for dinner (my birthday ) and the only reservation we could get was for 4:30. Early for dinner but the place is just across the street and it's very popular on the weekends so I think they simply don't take reservations after 4:30.

I thought they fixed the gardening bug of the plants revert to mounds. Or at least came up with a work around. That one has been around for what seems like forever and affects the game down to base game, sadly. If I remember correctly, they made it a base game compatible fix or whatever it's called even though the bug showed up after a patch for a different pack was released. Can't remember which one.

Gardening is still one of my favorite things to do in Sims 3.  Trying to keep my garden from becoming huge is tricky for me. lol

Whatever fix they claim to have done, it must have been a half-baked one (as to be expected, I guess). Gardening broke after Eco Living was released. My game is repaired and up-to-date, and I have all released content so far. And it is happening with and without mods and custom content. I feel so bad for the CC creators who love gardening and have made tons of CC harvestables, and then the game ruins the fun like that. I haven't abandoned it, though. Just need to spend time with my Alvis as well. Although gardening is more limited in The Sims 3. But at least it's dependable!

I have to vent ::::steam coming out ears::::

I have spent the entire afternoon trying to place basement stairs in my house. I know it can be done because I've placed a basement under an existing house before but I can't do it today. I've read endless tutorials today and nothing is working. I've moved walls, stairs, furniture, entire kitchen, raised/flattened/lowered terrain, cussed a lot. Still nothing. I should go for a walk.

This sounds familiar. What I had to do was remove roof from the whole house, remove walls, furniture and decor at least from the area where I wanted the basement stairs to go. Remove a big chunk of the foundation so you don't get that message cannot place in foundation.

  -- If you want to try to keep to the original floorplan, place free wood flooring on the ground under the foundation. This might also help plan where you want to put the basement stairs.

Essentially, I had to pretty much demolish and rebuild most of the house to add stairs to the basement.
