I guess it's ok. The plumbing is all done. Now we wait for the inspector and then they just have to come in and patch the drywall and paint.

Er...hubby snowed in at work same day I last wrote. He didn't come home until next day's evening. Danes aren't too used to problematic snowfall. So, he kinda dismissed the warnings from the authorities. Many people did. Usually, they blow things out of proportions. But, whoops. Not this time. As a result, a lot of people got stuck on the roads and wherever else they were at in the afternoon. Don't think people will be ignoring weather warnings again any time soon, hubby included ;D

Yeah, it's a good idea to not ignore the weather warnings. We also watch what's going on out our front door and gauge by that as well. And if I step out into the front yard and get lost in the snow, it's time to stay home. lol

I hope he had a comfy sleepover.
It happened to me in Winnipeg, March 4, 1966. I was 19 and working in the accounts office at a major department store. Winnipegers are no strangers to heavy snow and everyone went to work in the morning even thought the snow was falling heavily. By noon we were hearing rumors that they were going to be shutting down the buses and instead of letting us go (which would have meant we'd be stranded somewhere on the road, they kept all the employees there. It was actually a fun adventure because all the women were given the furniture department to sleep in. They gave us packages with toothbrushes and tooth paste and hair brushes. I was with 2 other gals got to sleep on the newly designed round bed. We were also fed well because there were several restaurants in the building.

In Vancouver where we do not get that kind of snow, my son got caught in a similar situation. Couldn't get home after a heavy snow. He also worked in a department store of a different sort - gear to automotive, sporting goods, housewares and hardware, etc. He and a couple of others ended up breaking out some of the camping equipment and making themselves cozy. There just happened to be a pizza place right next door.

That reminds me of at least one movie I've seen where they get locked in a department store overnight. Sometimes I think it'd be fun, but then again I'd be like nervous about it.

It was fun but then we were a bunch of 18-20 year olds so it was like a pyjama party. The older ladies kept telling us to pipe down (like I probably would now). There wasn't much sleeping going on. :D
The next morning the roads had been cleared enough for some of the buses to get through but we had to walk quite a ways to get from the bus to home.

Yep. I'm not surprised. I haven't seen snow like that since I was a kid.  We get snow around these parts, but not a whole lot. If we do it's usually a dusting-ish.  Though there have been a few times where it's been around 2 or 3 feet of snow.

Those photos seem to show -way- more than that. Like 5 feet or more.
