The image hosting site we're using to share our photos on is down, so I've written instructions on how to use postimages.org. See this post for other ways of sharing images on the forum or see below.

How to Upload Photos:

1. Click Choose Images and navigate to where your photos are stored.
2. Click on your first image then shift-click on your last photo and click Open.
-- Please remember the 12 image rule per post.

Yep, that's my alternative choice. :)  There's other image sites, but postimage seems to be the one closest to the one I'm most familiar with.

Sim Won't Enter House

I have given my homeless sim a new house to live in but she won't go in.
I know I've had this issue before and I can't remember how I fixed it. Right now I'm searching back through the posts to see if I can find it but if you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them. :)

It may have something to do with the lot... Check the stairs for example, if the lot has stairs.

Yep, it was the first thing I thought of when you mentioned having a Sim on the lot.

Introduction

Hi,
I'm new to the group. You can call me Cheeseweasel. I became interested in the Sims 3 when I bought it for my kids. They were about 7 and 12 years old. They are now 21 and 25.

The first vivid memory I have of the game was when my 7 year old built a house for his sim. It didn't occur to him that he would need a bathroom. I was fascinated when the sim went to the kitchen and got himself some ice cream, sat on the one couch provided, and ate while watching TV. The next thing we know he has to pee, and pees in front of the TV. The TV then breaks down, and my son has his sim try to fix it. He hadn't saved the game, the sim was electrocuted. Game over. My son was so upset!

It turned out I liked the game more than my kids did, so when they went on to Kerbel Space Program and Animal Crossing and Roblox, I stuck with Sims 3.  There have been years where I didn't play much and got bored with the game, even though I had a good share of the EPs, but it was mostly because the game would get to the point that it constantly crashed, and I got frustrated. Then I learned about mods and clearing caches, and other things to help the game run and add more options for FREE! Now I'm hooked again.
😎

You found your way in! Welcome.  ;D
I was going to say "Hi, Cheesy", but decided that wasn't very polite.

I played S3 many years ago but had no idea that such a thing as CC existed or that there was much excitement associated with building. About 4 years ago I developed a neurogical disorder that kept me housebound for a while and then along came Covid, so I discovered S3 again and CC and...the rest is history. I'm a frustrated architect/designer at heart so this suits me to a "T".

I've spent the day updating some of my sims who, for some reason, are not in the careers they were supposed to be. I have made one of my sims a journalist and placed a rabbithole rug in my newspaper building and it showed up in Business/Journalism in Nraas and not just in City Hall. That made me happy.

I took her to CAS to give her a new professional career wardrobe (she was wearing a rooking baseball uniform - don't know how that happened), but it took absolutely forever!!

It's dinnertime. Leftover meatloaf.
