Cheeseweasle shared this house of hers with us --

and it gave me inspiration for my house.

It's a 6Bds/4Ba home with unfinished basement.

Thank you Cheeseweasle for the inspiration!! :)

Wanted to add a screenshot of the house with the upper deck, like the inspiration screenshot.

I like how the one with the upper deck turned out!!

Wow, Mrs. Flynn! I love your version. I'd like to drop it into the same area as mine, furnish it, and see who Terrence's neighbors turn out to be. Are you planning on sharing it?

I made a how-to on Custard a few years back, but didn't give a full how to use it. I fixed that.

Click here to learn more about Custard the Sims3Pack Cleaner Tool.

Thank you Cheeseweasel for helping with that. Hopefully this helps!! :)

I started a save in Monte Vista, made a house for my Sims. Thinking in the way of playing a save in a world that gives off summer evening vibes.

I didn't like how the house was coming along at first, so I sat with it for a bit, and it grew on me. lol

It's more of a "starter-ish" home in the way of space.  It does have a little room to grow, as it has an unfinished basement. :)

 Merry Christmas, everyone 🎄❤️

I'm sorry for my absense. I haven't felt like playing anything at all for the past several weeks. This time of year carries with it some emotional heaviness that I always struggle a bit to get through. However, I do open The Sims 4 and my hunting game briefly now and then.

Hope you guys are doing well, or as well as can be.

In Denmark, we celebrate Christmas Eve as the main event. Dinner traditionally consists of duck roast and/or pork roast with regular potatoes, "brown potatoes" which are small ones fried in sugar and butter, boiled and sweetened red cabbage (finely chopped), rich brown sauce and small boiled apples cut in halves and filled with currant jelly. Drinks are usually red wine for the adults and soda for the kids with optional water.
Dessert consists of something similar to rice pudding called 'Ris a la Mande' in which an almond is hidden. Whoever gets the almond is awarded a small present - usually something edible like fine chocolates. Port is served with this for the adults.

Sometimes, I feel like going for a walk to help digestion and get some fresh air.

Then we walk around the Christmas tree and sing Christmas carols for a while. Then we open the presents. The rest of the evening, we relax with coffee/tea and a selection of homebaked Christmas cookies and other Christmas-y sweets. Some watch TV and kids play with whatever toys or other items they might have gotten.

This year, we switch things around a bit and do the singing and opening of presents before dinner. And one person will be missing due to a divorce, so this time it will be a different experience.

Christmas Day and the next day, people visit with other family. Traditionally, lunch these days consists of whole grain bread with pickled herring and curry-flavored topping, crackers and cheese and a whole bunch of other stuff. Usually beer and strong liquor is served for adults. Dinner consists of sausage and kale stew sprinkled with a mix of cinnamon and sugar along with brown potatoes described above. Drinks are a mixture of wine and beer - whatever people like the most.

Hugs, tea and cookies from all of me to all of you 😊

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Thank you for sharing your Christmas Eve, Nindigo.

The Icelandic way is to exchange gifts (always books) and spend the rest of the evening with family reading their new books, drinking wine and eating chocolate.

I don't know how much of that is myth but it's what my grandmother used to tell us and it sounds good to me.

I always have our family dinner on this day as well in order for my youngest son and his family to spend Christmas Day with his in-llaws. It's worked out well.

We'd have turkey with stuffing (made with bread crumbs or cubes, onions, celery and seasonings. It's usually stuffed into the turkey. With my family there's never enough stuffing just in the turkey itself so I bake a batch in the oven. We have mashed potatoes and gravy along with assorted vegetables. I make a turnip and apple casserole with a crumb topping. It takes a bit like apple pie so the kids like it. My son likes thee North American traditional green bean casserole.

Dessert us often pumpkin pie and/or another fruit pie and there's usually a selection of other pastries like shortbread cookies, butter tarts and Nanaimo bars. Those last two items are strictly Canadian.
Lots of wine, rum and eggnog, beer, or whatever my sons can forage from my limited liquor cabinet. The kids get soda or juice.

On Christmas moring I'd go to my older son's to watch the kids open their gifts and then he'd make breakfast of bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, toast and copious quantities of coffee. In the afternoon everyone would come back and we'd spend the rest of the day picking at lefovers. By early evening the kids (and most of the adults) are played out so it's an early night.

This year is going to be a bit different since I'm not able to do as much after my stroke. My daughter-in-law has pretty much taken it in hand and while we're doing it at my place, everyone has chipped in with various meal contributions. I'm in charge of veggies.

Merry Christmas everyone.  Our traditions have evolved over the years. When I was a kid, we spent Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family, had a big pot luck with ham and turkey and such. Then we'd open presents. Eventually, we realized that people got filled up on all the appetizers and didn't have room for ham and turkey, so we just brought snacks instead. Christmas morning was opening presents with immediate family - parents and siblings, and in the afternoon we went to my dad's side of the family.

Both Mom's and Dad's sides grew to the point that it was difficult for all to meet at once, so with the passing of the grandparents, the families started new traditions.

Today we still do the Christmas Eve snacks and play the "white elephant gift game" instead of buying presents for particular people. We used to have a Santa suit and one of the adults would dress up and hand out presents to the kids and get their pictures taken when we were still celebrating with the extended family, but the suit stayed with the family with the most small children - but all is not lost! We happen to have a gorilla costume, so instead, we get visits by Clyde the Christmas Gorilla, who hands out presents to the kids high school age and younger, and they get their picture taken with Clyde.

Christmas Day, after all the families have opened their own presents at home, we meet around lunch time to eat whatever didn't get eaten the night before and open presents again - this time we drew names.

This is the first year my oldest son isn't spending Christmas with us. He's back in Connecticut spending it with his fiancé's family. They were out here for Thanksgiving, and we had "Thanksmas" with them then.   Time for a "new normal" with new traditions, it seems.
