Just some random dude. I have to say, he was better than most of the random dudes/dudettes but I sent him on his way to go and live with someone else.

Lapaige and I had been talking about an alternative way to install custom content.

If you like to install your .Sims3Pack files via the Sims 3 launcher, you can take the resulting .package files that are placed into the DCBackup folder, rename them and then add them to your mods/package folder.

Thank you Lapaige for having me look more into this!! :)  I do like this alternative way to convert custom content. lol

You can find the article here, on How To: Look at Package Files in DCBackup via S3PE

I also put together this article post on Renew DCCache Files of Missing/Not Working Custom or Store Content.

Thanks for all the helpful hints, Mrs. Flynn. I remember using S3PE to look at and rename files awhile back, but it's been awhile, so I'm glad you posted the link here. I'll definitely take a look at the other link too.

I was doing some testing with custom content and store content.  I remembered that some Simmers have an issue with missing content from time to time and thought this information might be helpful in finding missing content and if it's really missing, there's help for that too. :)

Request Posted to the Sims 3 Builders Group

This was a request from the Sims 3 Builders Facebook page.

Does anyone have any ideas?

"Hello, I’m looking for a sims 3 world I deleted a long time ago. It had a strip mall where you could join the stylist profession, several apartments, a “rich neighborhood” with a school close to it, where all the houses were black/white/grey themed, a “coastal neighborhood” where the houses were beige/pink themed. It had 1 apartment with a really big room for 1 sim or a couple. And a few smaller rooms on the side. If this sounds familiar to anyone please let me know"

The world the Sims 3 builders member is looking for sounds intriguing, but it doesn't ring a bell.

I've been itching to resurrect my Northern Winds challenge that was on my oldest laptop now that I have my new computer. I'll post the whole story so far in my story room if anyone wants to catch up to the present time. I'm 4 generations in.

Cheesie's "Pants of Joy"
« Reply #1868 on: February 27, 2024, 07:44:32 PM »
Too funny. My husband had a pair of yellow striped pants in the 70's (hipppy fashion - in fact, I got more wear out of them than he did.). I'd call those "pants of joy". :D

Funny story. About that same time he grew out his hair and grew a beard. That was pretty "out there" f or him due to his strict upbringing and the fact that he was just starting work at IBM which was pretty straight-laced at the time.
He had a lot of aunts and uncles who were quite vocal about his long hair and beard.
One day one of the aunts saw his girl cousing downtown in bare feet.
the lament? Oh no! Now we have two hippies in the family! :D

I can only imagine what they thought of me. I was 18, I lived on my own, I was a bleached blonde and I smoked. Not at all the sweet church girl his mother had in mind for him. :D

I'm surprised IBM would let your husband have long hair and a beard. From what I understand they were very strict about dress codes, so I'd think they would also be about hairstyles.

My kid sister had a boyfriend in high school who wore those ridiculous baggy pants with the crotch hanging down to the knees and that looked about 5 sizes too big for him. My Dad was literally speechless when the guy showed up to take her out. We used to teaser her about the way her boyfriend dressed and she just said she had to dress nice for the both of them. She ended up married to someone else with more reasonable pants.
