Unfortunately, yes. Most of the "no stretch, children can" series is great! I love them. It's just the skill book one that doesn't work. For me unfortunately, it blocked all books in all of the other interfaces of the game. :(

Is there any way to get these mods except thru Mediafire? That seems to be broken for me. Even w/logging in, every time I try to d/l a file from their site, it breaks and I can't get it. I could try on hubby's comp sometime. It may just be my comp too. : /

I'm going to try to d/l these on my newer laptop to see if it works. I'm thinking that it might just be this comp that is protesting the Mediafire site.

Success!! I d/led the "Faster Nectar" onto a thumb drive on my laptop and it worked! The only drawback was that I couldn't d/l the file directly to the thumb drive. I had to click on "show file in folder" to see it and then drag it to the thumb drive. From there, I put it into my game here. :)  I still use Win 7 on this comp and this is not the only program that it protests about. : /

I've been playing around in nraas Retuner and found some things that I found interesting. First of all, I went to retuner and using nraas/Retuner/settings/general/social interactions, you can tune out scolding/punishment and you can tune out the "berate intelligence" and a number of other interactions which can be seen.

Next, I started to explore and disabled alien abductions (nraas/retuner/settings/general/by tuneable/sims3.gameplay.actorsystems/AlienUtils/kAbductionBaseChance 0, kAbductionsMaxSpaceRockBonus 0, then below "AbductionReactions," is kAbductionSpaceRockBonus 0, next is kAbductionTelescopeBonus 0. Click the small x at the bottom to return to menu. 15 lines down after this is "kAlienHouseholdVisitChanceActive and I put in 50 b/c I want aliens to visit. If you do not want aliens to visit, the put in 0. In my current challenge, I'm only allowed to marry a npc or a townie. The aliens count as npc's so if I can get her to be acquainted and romantically involved with one, then she can marry him.

Next, on appliances, I get tired of food spoiling so fast in the cheap fridge and so I have the "buyable Culinary reward" and usually get the minus 1 Kelvin fridge in buydebug/miscellaneous section. However, if your sims don't have enough money to buy that fridge (it is expensive), then you can use retuner again to prevent all food spoilage.

To do this go to: nraas/retuner/settings/general/sims3.gameplay.objects.appliances then under fridge, there is cheap, moderate, and expensive, and reward. When you click on any one of the cheap, moderate, or expensive fridges, click on the last line "kFridgeTuning/SpoilageMultiplier and set that to -1. When you look at the reward fridge, that is the spoilage setting.

If you want to totally disable bee attack and sting chance, go to nraas/retuner/settings/general/tuneable by xml/sims3.objects.insects/beekeepingbox/kbeeattackbonus and click on "list." Set all three to 0. Click on the small x and then go to kbeeattackchances and set all three again to 0. Click on the small x and go to the next one down which is kbeestingchances and set all 3 to 0 again. There is also the chance to harvest wax, kcleanlinessdecrementpersimhour, and 6 lines below that is khoneyproductiontimeinsimhours and I put mine to 6 since I want more honey. This will make it almost a full time job though so be aware of that.

These are just some of the retuner settings. There are many others to explore. For instance on objects, some of them have pregnant sims disabled. Whenever you run into that, just go to retuner/settings/general/by object and then look for the object and set pregnant sims to true.   Have Fun!

Sim Game Selector 3.0
« Reply #14 on: December 08, 2020, 02:36:42 PM »
If you're using the 1.67 (disc) version of the game and want to be able to pick and choose what packs you play with, try this mod:

Sim Game Selector 3.0
https://modthesims.info/d/499140/

-- Doesn't work with Steam version.

I find it slightly a pain to use, but that's due to player error. *Blush* It may make your save files un-usable if you forget that you're using the mod and have whatever packs turned off.

As long as you remember you're using it, you'll be good to go!!

Sims 3 Package Viewer

Here's a program that will allow you to look at .package files

Sims 3 Package Viewer - Package_Viewer_V1.6.exe
http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUploadsRemote/uploads/1953/

I'm finding it very helpful in cleaning out my custom content. Though I have noticed that it doesn't show thumbnail photos of some custom content files. I'm not sure why that is other than the cc piece doesn't have whatever the package viewer is looking for when looking for thumbnails.

I'm still new to the program, but plan on making a how-to on it later. :)

You're welcome!! It's a somewhat frustrating tool, but very useful when needing to test what happens if/when you've got other packs disabled.

Thanks for sharing that! I used to have this program, but I had forgotten about it.

Evidently, EA has the no spoilage on the super fridge programmed a bit  deeper than just the -1 on the spoilage file. I still had food spoiling. : /  I wound up getting the super fridge anyway.

Good for if you have Into the Future installed and aren't getting any of the opportunity calls.

These mods may interfere with each other so you might have to download both, and unzip them to see which one is newer and/or works better for you.
