~ Lapaige, were you ever able to get in contact with your neighbor who was to travel? If so did they reconsider traveling?

Yes, I booked the trip for him and yesterday I took him to the bus that would take him to Seattle where he was catching the train. Before we left I check both the bus and train schedules and everything was running on time. I haven't heard from him so I'm guessing he made it ok. Yesterday was a beautiful day for a trip. It's raining again today. We're never going to dry out at this rate. They're busy trying to open up one highway to bring in the supply chains. At the moment we're completely cut off and the major highway is going to take months before it opens again.

I'm such a worry-wart, I'd be checking in with them. Just to make sure all is well. lol

Wowzer!! That's some heavy damage to both the road and train tracks!!

At first glance, the first photo (right) looked like it was only the train tracks. Looking at the second photo (left), it shows the real devastation of both the road and train tracks being washed away.

Are they near a river?

Bob is a much loved resident here and he's gone to visit his son. I'm sure if there were any issues, we'd have been notified. I wasn't far from my phone yesterday so I was able to relax after 9:00 when he was arriving in Portland and I hadn't had any phone calls. :D

Yes, the Fraser river, also knows as the "Mighty Fraser". That's a wide 4-lane hwy with wide shoulders. The photo doesn't do it doesn't reflect the size of the road or the river. The tracks weren't damaged but they have to inspect the supporting structures and the terrain around the supports before they'll run any trains.
The river is on the left and looks narrow at that point because it's going through a canyon.

This is about 20 miles from me. The RV storage lot that is shown at the bottom of the picture went up in flames yesterday and videos show an enormous black cloud of smoke of hundreds of RVs burning and you can hear propane tanks exploding. They can't get near it because it's surrounded by water. The area is normally a flat prairie so there would be no such thing as a fireboat. Those are all on the coast about 45 miles to the west. .

I am glad it is nice and quiet here. The day before yesterday, we had the first snow of this winter, and right now it is snowing again. It is supposed to get a bit stormy later in the afternoon, but we will see. It is windy, so the snow is whirling around some, but the flakes have become bigger than they were earlier, which I really like. The big ones are my favorites.

Happy first of December to you guys ❤️🎄

Happy 1st of December to you too!! :)

Weather over this way isn't as nice. Though winters over here are usually windy and raining.

We don't get to see big snowflakes all that often, but do like seeing them when we do.
