I'm trying to get my game saves up and going again. It's a little hard when all the store content is missing. Also, I'm installing the Steam version again - perhaps that version will let me use store stuff. I know from experience that I can easily use an Origin save in the Steam game and vice versa, so that at least won't be a problem.

Yes you should be able to use the Store content on Steam.

As far as I understand as long as you have your base game registered with the Sims 3 Store you should be able to use whichever version you have and use your store content.

It's also my understanding that Steam and Disc (pre-2012) version is the most stable editions of the game. As they can install and play without Origin/EA App.

You need to re download and reinstall Store content after switching versions. The same will also happen if you ever decide to switch to the Origin/EA version after using Steam. They manage Store content differently.

I've only ever bought my games on Steam and I don't recall registering the base game with the Sims 3 store unless it happens automatically if you log in though the EA launcher, which I don't anymore.

What does happen though, is that it will tell me that it's installed when it's not and I have to go to the dashboard and reinstall it.

The only thing I don't have for my Steam version is the Katy Perry's Sweet Treats stuff pack.

Seeing as I play with everything installed in Appaloosa Plains, I might as well just switch to Steam - even more so because it is more stable.

I'll need to find out what store sets some particular hairstyles come from.

Appaloosa Plains November 11th, 2022

I decided to add some of my dynasty's first generation grown offspring. Because I got nostalgic. And I got tired of snow, so I upped the temperature to a constant 77 fahrenheit despite the changing seasons. I have also paused aging for a spell. Need my proper dose of every of my Alvis before they go with Grim. I kinda want to set up a save where the town is never aging and never changing. Something to go back to when I just want to hang out with all the originals.

This is Taj. His grandparents are Musa from the second picture above and Agnes Crumplebottom, a premade Sim from Sunset Valley.


Miraj and VJ. VJ is a vampire and has just bitten Miraj to turn him.


Miraj sleeping peacefully before turning. I find him so adorable, always.
