I do remember seeing a lot of that type of thing. When I'd get the missing work messages I'd send my Sim to work. Even if it was suppose to be a day off.

After playing the game yesterday with all packs installed and the smart phone... Makes me really miss just the plain cellphone!!

I don't even remember what the plain phone does. I'm so used to the smart phone.

I'm not sure how to explain the plain cellphone other than it gives more simplified options and there doesn't seem to be as many options. But there doesn't need to be as many options because there's not as many packs installed either.

Does anyone know when the smart phone was added in the Sims 3. My Google-fu seems to be off at the moment and can't find any info on it.

I still couldn't find any info, so I decided I'd do a test with enabling a couple-few packs at a time to see if it could help determine when the smart phone was added. It was with University.

World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night = no smart phone!!

Generations and Pets added = no smart phone!!

Thinking Showtime is what added the smart phone. = Nope. Still have regular cellphone.

Supernatural and Seasons added = no smart phone!!

University added = smart phone added.

Probably like what I have IRL. I needed a cell phone and didn't want the expense of a smart phone or an Iphone and I didn't really want to have another computer  so to speak so, I went w/a Trac Phone which is just a basic cell phone. I assume that the smart phones allow the sims to browse the web, or stream videos and what not. The cell phone is just a phone.
