(Playing The Sims 4)
Once again, I am totally put off by a case of a stranger forcing themselves upon my Sim and leaving me powerless to stop it. This aspect of TS4 angers me so much. The only way to prevent a stranger from starting a conversation with my Sim is to quickly make my Sim travel to a different location - their home lot, preferably. However, my Sim was in the middle of eating just now. I desperately tried to cancel her (the stranger's) approach, alas to no avail. The stranger simply overrode my attempted cancellation of her invasive interaction, takes a seat at my Sim's table and begins her inane babbling at him. I just cannot accept this and rage-quit.
Thank goodness this is not a thing in The Sims 3! Unfortunately, TS3 is a bit lacking in other areas compared to TS4. For example, I downloaded the cowshed and chicken coop for VJ and Miraj, having been inspired by those two things just having been added in TS4. But the interactions with them are so lackluster in TS3. Your TS3 Sims don't develop a relationship with these animals and maintenance is not really needed. I guess they are nice if one doesn't like, or have the patience to grow egg, cheese, and omni plants. Also, the ones the grocery store sells are perfectly adequate, even if unneeded.
It is funny how The Sims games avoid the subject of animal slaughter in order to get meat. Meat grows from plants in both TS3 and TS4. I do believe that The Sims is a life simulation game, sure, but certainly not a realistic life simulation
