SP is always off. Click on the thumbnail to see.

There's another possibility. Since this is a game where I deleted all the residents and houses and the only townies I have are the handful that I've created, maybe the game is trying to repopulate the town. But I wouldn't think the game is that smart.

I have read that sims from other towns will come in to your town to work and I've had that happen but they don't stay in town. I've also checked the sims that I didn't create, sitting in the library and it's none of them.

I am able to evict and delete the sims that move in, but I'm not able to delete those in the library that I have not created.

Found the answer. https://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/buildedit/edittownlots.php

"Editing your town can be as simple as adding a few empty blocks to build more houses and adding community buildings that were added in an expansion pack, but have not automatically been placed in your town, or it can be as drastic as demolishing everything in town and rebuilding from scratch. Adding lots is quite straight forward, so instead, let's assume that you want to remove everything completely and rebuild.

An interesting thing to note is the game will automatically repopulate your town. As you build more houses, Sims will move into some of them (the game will always leave some empty) and there will be Sims to fill positions as clerks and such in shops, even if there are no houses for them to live in."
  - This assumes you are building in the same save that you are playing.

---  If you're building in Edit Town and don't leave Edit Town you will not get Sims moving into your Town.

You are correct in that you can't delete EA's pre-made Sims and lots from the library.

However, you can hide them.

You'll need to make sure if you do hide them that you don't delete the HiddenPackage.ini file in your Sims 3 folder when cleaning out the cache files.

I usually just have my custom content showing. I didn't realize you could actually hide them. It wasn't something I was terribly concerned with though. Even the random ones showing up didn't bother me. I just sent them packing.  ;D

I'm going to be fussy the other way around now, because I've played in an emptied town with just one household and no new Sims moved in anywhere. Yes, service Sims were generated, but no one moved into houses. Thus, as you can see, I have the opposite experience.

The handful of tray families don't matter, they always stay in the tray/bin.

Well. I'm sorry you have to deal with such an annoying aspect, LaPaige. I don't know that we can help. By the way, it looks like you have Supernatural installed with the sp options available. I forget which packs you have...

...

On an unrelated note, I'm a sleep deprived zombie today. Sorry if I seem off or something. Top floor is out of order. Maybe I need to stick my head in a bucket of some caffeinated liquid and let it soak.

Did you see my post from Carl's a few back? It seems that it happens. I don't find it all that annoying. More amusing if anything. I only have a couple of empty houses at one time so it's not like a whole bunch at a time. As to the last guy I evicted, I realize now that I may actually have kept him because he was employed as a firefighter and most squatters are unemployed. Anyway, he's gone now and I have someone else ready to move in.

I only have Pets, Generations, Ambitions and Seasons. No Supernatural.

I too am sleep deprived for the second day in a row and currently soaking in a bucket of aforementioned beverage as we speak...er....type.

Ooooh my goodness Nindigo, you're right. I've never seen service Sim that the game generates living in a house. They seem to be almost always at their post. lol

After I learned you could hide the Sims and lots in the in-game library I was like cool and tried hiding the Sims and some of the lots as a test, but found it didn't work for me, as I'd delete the HiddenPackage.ini file every time I'd go to delete the cache files.

If memory serves correctly, you can have ghosts hanging around, specially the graveyard even without Supernatural installed or enabled.

Yes, ghosts are basegame. They come out at around midnight from their resting place and travel around town. At sunup, they simply disable themselves where they are currently at. Or, if near their headstone, they are sucked back into it.

I've even seen ghost hanging around town at night when I didn't have Supernatural enabled.. At first I was like what?!  But that was because I hadn't played with just base game in like a really - really long time. And at first it didn't occur to me that ghosts are base game. lol

I find the associated haunting melody rather obnoxious, lol.
