Thank you for the confirmation of the rules!! :)

It's easier and more enjoyable for me to build without Sims on the lot and since I am more of a builder type Sims 3 player, I chose to focus on the build part of the challenge. = Build 7 individual homes on the lot that allows for craft/skill space.

I am using an edited save on Builder's Island. It has some basic rabbit holes, like City Hall. I also have added a few residential lots and Sims to those lots.

I'm using a 50x50 lot for this challenge. I named it Azure Acres and divided up into 7 fenced "lots" and one shared "community" lot.

Some of these skills I am not sure how to actually sell the items, other than out of the Sim's inventory.

I do have the bakery, art studio (jewelry) and savvy seller, but have never really used savvy seller.

I was thinking maybe creating a consignment type of shop so the Sims can sell the items.

I'm kind of researching that as well. I was thinking of adding Sim Nation's Open for Business mod, but it's nowhere to be found these days.

I kind of think Savvy Seller doesn't allow for selling crafted items, which is a pity. I've played as characters using Savvy Seller to sell crafted items, but I had to do a lot of keeping track, and the items don't disappear, and I really think the customers are buying the tables and rugs and such instead of the items themselves.

There is a Savvier Seller mod that makes the items disappear, but I don't know if the mod allows for crafted items to be sold.

I know you can make more money if you put items on consignment at the consignment or elixir registers.

It might be easiest to sell directly from the inventory and just set up a mock shop or booth for decorative purposes.

I'm still researching . . .
😎

I like the idea of a mock shop for decorative purposes.  Thanks to Lapaige, we've got a couple of cute ideas for cash registers.

Lapaige also found something else for us to try too. :)

Beatrice has moved in.

The very first thing she did was to sit down and have a cup of tea. Um, Bea, that's for your customers.

She baked up a batch of "outstanding" chocolate chip cookies. (Note: Just a little cheat using the Book of Talent to spike her qualifications up to 10).
She placed the plate of cookies on the counter and promply sneezed on them. Somehow I don't think Bea is going to be terribly successful at this in spite of her 10 rating.  :D

Well, I do like to amuse  myself and it's often at my own expense.

For some reason Beatrice decided to take a Moon Bath. It's 5:30 in the evening and she's taken her towel outside.

Well, that's a ittle bit amusing but not laughing at myself. That happened when I was noticing little white dots in the grass. I got all excited thinking they were seeds so I was trying to pick them up but nothing was happening. I thought my mouse was acting up again. A shake, a smack, fiddle with the batteries, then I realized that the white dots I was seeing was dust on my monitor. The sun is shining in at just the right angle to highlight them.  ::) :-\ ;D

Here's the lot so far:

As the story goes, the previous owners did a slight remodel on the house that is there while dividing up the lot into 7 "lots" and a community garden. It had a small unfinished basement that they made bigger and a loft bedroom with it's own bathroom. They left the home a shell, because they ran out of money and had to sell.

I saved the lot to the library and loaded it up in a new test-save as I'm doing some testing with it.

Which Sim are you using for this one? I'm just working on Frank's house now.

This house is going to be turned into the community store/consignment shop.

I'm not working with any specific Sim, just building the houses. At least for now. I'll be creating the Sims after the lot is finished. :)
