Frank's house is done. He visited it for about 30 seconds, gave it a "yahoo" then promply went to Bea's house for a cup of tea.

I love how the houses are coming along!! :)

I added color shade links to Cheeseweasel's 1st post. To help with color shade ideas.

I've done some "drawing" out of some floorplans as a test-run and was like yeah-no. Deleted it and am starting over from a previous lot save in a new test-save using Builder's Island with no edits. Just the lot I'm building on. It has the "old" house that will be where items can be sold, and it has a garden with some normal quality produce behind the house.

For some reason I'm wanting certain colors in certain areas of the lot. I've made a color list. After I did I was like what about finding a site that has links to different color shades and found the site that I shared.

From front left to front right -- looking at the front of the house.

1. Purple
2. Green
3. Red
4. Yellow
5. Blue
6. Pink
7. Orange

#1 -- Purple - Victorian/Storybook

I may have not done this correctly in that the house is not in all purple shades. I felt I had to mix in a few other colors as well. I'm happy with the end result. It's got the basics covered.

Kitchen went from this:

To this: - Didn't like it, took dark. At least for the bottom counters.

To finally this - which I love for some reason.

Doesn't give a victorian feel. It gives more of a country vibe, but that's okay. It's cute and that's what counts!! :)

Front-left side of house. As seen from street.

Front of House.

Inside done.

Loft-like bedroom up the ladder, not pictured or furnished.

Color Shades I chose from:

Will be adding the skill items to the "old" house later on. I will create the Sims for this lot after the building is done.

Azure has moved in. She seems to love her house and she's the only one who didn't immediately head to Bea's for a cup of tea. It didn't take her long to get to work.

Dang. I just realized something. Whe I change the roof of one structure it changes the roof for all of them. :(...unless someone knows something I don't...

It's my understanding because we're building several different houses or buildings on the one lot all the buildings share the same roofing color and pattern (Brown Wood Shingles).

You can still use different roof types on the different buildings. For example Hipped roof or Gabbled.

Using the Remove All Roofs tool, deletes -all- the rooflines you've already placed. Don't use it unless you want to create all your rooflines over again.

Use the Sledge Hammer tool to remove roof pieces to replace them if needed.

Yes, I knew that but I'd forgotten for the moment because my houses all that the same roof patterns. I was working on Cyrus's house and gave him an orange metal roof. Then everyone got an orange metal roof. :D Oops!

My stroke-brain is really making this a challenge for me. I had finished Cyprus's early this morning, house and Sim but suddenly all his "insides" had disappeared. It happened again. I purchased the house unfurnished and I forgot about that. So I figured something had gone wrong with the whole game and shut it down without saving and went back to bed, thoroughly disgusted. So mad at myself.

However, I had already donethe screenies so Cyprus has moved in.

I also just realized that I didn't give much of a nod to his color except for the roof and a rug. *Facepalm*.
