It would be nice to be able to have the choice of different roof patterns. But I'm thinking it's something that's hard coded into the game. :(

I see a few pieces of Orange =

Roof, Fence and rug.

Cute house!! :)

#2 -- Green - Vintage/Garden/Farmhouse

Took down the old house so I could hopefully get better screenshots of the front of the houses.

Front of House.

Inside of House.

I also notice the issue with roof patterns. I wanted Annie's to have a metal roof or the one that looks like solar cells and Beatrice's to have a scalloped roof, but no dice. I guess Annie gets the scalloped roof too. Or maybe I just need to change all of them to more generic roof type like square shingles. I posted what I have so far of Annie's efforts in my Story Room, but here's the exterior so far. Definitely a work in progress.

I see it as more of an issue for you because from what I understand, you are wanting to play it so you're sort of stuck with one roof for all.
In my case, I'm not intending to play it so I can change the roof for each build for screenshots.

Opal has moved in.

She has a tiny workshop in the turret and a tiny show room in the foyer.

I love how the Purple house came out!! I was wondering why mine was missing something. I couldn't put my finger on it at the time. It's missing the turret.   Derp!!

I love Opal's cute hair!! :)

I made a mistake. I put skip level markers in a frieze level and shortened area using constrain floor. Now I "can't edit outside my unit." The lot type still says residential and not apartment. I deleted the level skip markers, but I still can't make changes outside the building. I know there's a cheat code that allows it, but I don't know what it is. Can either of you help me?

So sorry, Cheesie. I hope MrsFlynn can help because I surely can't. I've never built and apartment or used markers like that.
Can you go back to a previous save?

Because of all the mistakes I'm making lately, I've *mostly* learned to save frequently. In fact I have  installed a "Save" mod which helps to remind me.

Just before I started building any houses/buildings on my lot, I ran into that error = Can't build outside of unit.

Not sure why that happened, so I just went back to a previous save.

However, if you don't have a previous save or don't want to use it. You might try:

RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings false (Turns it on)

RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings true (Turns it off)
