Me too, Nindigo. Debbie will continue to live in Riverview and be the daycare lady. She might come into play again as she comes up in rotation and after all, there may be a romance blooming. :D

Right. At least we'll be able to cross it off the bucket list.

The daycare profession is probably most fun to play if the toddlers and kids are well known either premades or otherwise purposefully designed. I find caring for and training puddingfaces utterly meaningless. Not to mention their host of randomly generated caretakers. I will be culling these households once I'm finished playing the profession.

By the way, the parents of Doris' daycare children are frequently sending her lots of gifts (paintings) for her extra work. Some of them are actually quite valuable.

Because I'm rebuilding RV and all the residents have been created by me, the only toddler I am familiar with is Korry Moore. The rest are random. I have a few kids in my families so it will be interesting to see which ones show up. Oddly, it's Korry who is the least active of the toddlers. The others move around to different activities but he just sits there. He will play if he's in the playpen and the first time I put him in the walker he moved around but hasn't since. When Debbie called for story time, he got up and walked to her.

Maybe eventually I'll put another todder in with a family and see what happens. Actually, I can do that now, can't I? I think I know the perfect family. :)

I've been noticing Vanessa getting quite a few gifts from the parents/care givers. They range in value. One was a skeet ball machine valued at over $5000.

I did try to search how to stop getting the gifts, but not much information came up on how to stop getting these types of gifts.

By the way, the parents of Doris' daycare children are frequently sending her lots of gifts (paintings) for her extra work. Some of them are actually quite valuable.

I don't mind the gifts since I haven't used money cheats, so the extra funding quite helps.

It's the weekend for Doris & Co. right now. I'm anxious to get the last few work days over with :)

I haven't used any money cheats but I did use the Free Realestate cheat and I built her house in Edit Town mode. I didn't even think to check for gifts. Right now I'm working on a little experiment with a new family member.

I didn't use any money cheats either, except freerealestate on to move my family and a few other families in.

Gifts come by mail. They seem to come in starting after maybe Lv3 of the career or so.

I believe the gifts start coming when your daycarer has put in some extra hours.

Hmmm. Seems we have a problem. After all that work to get a new toddler for testing purposes, a new day for Daycare Debbie, with her new uniform, and...no kiddos.

I fast-forwarded through the day to see if any of the older kids showed up but instead, her new potential romantic interest showed up.

Did you get the "On the Clock" bug too?

I had the issue and what worked for me is to save family and their house separately via Edit Town. Then evict family, bulldoze home, replace home and replace family.

If you don't want to try that you could try:

1. Reset Town/Evict or Move Household and move 'em back in.
2. Quit and join profession again.
3. Try going back a save before the experiment.

You might try experimenting in a test-save instead of your main game. At least for the Daycare career. Since it seems sensitive to any kind of change. Though this seems to be the case with any Sims 3 career.
