I used to have a desktop that used to run Sims 3 well. I still would restart every few hours. I ended up not using it as much as I do my laptop.

Lapaige, I didn't mean to upset or offend by suggesting restarting the computer every few hours and getting a cooling mat. I literally fried my first laptop (graphics) because of playing too long and without a cooling mat. I worry that might happen to your laptop and am not sure if the warranty will cover fried graphics or not. Some manufactures will some won't.

Not upset or offended in any way. You're right. I was in my game when my sister came by. My laptop was sitting on the ottoman while we had a 30 min visit. I just picked it up again and it was quite hot so I turned off the game for a while.

I do shut down and clean up when I think about it but sometimes I just get so engrossed in what I'm doing that I forget to do that. Sometimes the afternoon is gone before I realize it and it's dinnertime.

I was looking at mats yesterday on Amazon and there are so many choices. Any recommendations?

I find it really -really- comes down to preference. There's been a couple that we've tried that I've absolutely hated because my laptop feels too big for the mat or the mat would slip out from it's tilted position when I'd pick it up to move it and laptop together.

It's been a day so far. I had an appointment for bloodwork early this afternoon and when I went down to my car I realized I had a flat tire. One of the ladies in the lounge offered to take me so I'm home again but now I have to wait for BCAA. Who knows how long they'll be.
