Well, I'm not one of them younger folks who needs a YouTube how-to video for just about everything. I'm from a generation that learned how to independently utilize the brain ;)

You explain things well, MrsFlynn. Otherwise, all of your tutorials would be total nonsense which they most certainly are not!

I need to rant.

Looking at men's CC clothes over at The Sims Resource yet again...and it's all junk. Everything is covered in ugly print or looks like something found at a landfill.

So depressing.

And, sadly, much of the clothing in the Sims 3 Store belongs to some kind of themed set. I guess "normal" male clothing is just a fantasy.

Nindigo, I hear you about men's clothing. The in-game choice for every day is mostly just a bunch of different jackets. Mind you, most men I know just pull on the same t-shirt they wore yesterday and a pair of shorts. :D I'm creating my RV sims based on people I know just for fun and I'm trying to dress them the way I know they would IRL and they're almost all the same except for one who is into western wear, one who wears athletic gear all the time and another who almost always wears a buttoned shirt or a polo. Otherwise it's t-shirts and jeans or shorts.

MrsFlynn I think you explain things just fine. I have that problem of not explaining well because my thoughts are not organized.

The men in my family, including my husband, all wear jeans and button-up shirts which I think looks nice. Perhaps it's because they all academics. It's pretty safe to say that I married above my own social standing, but they are all wonderful and kind people.

MrsFlynn, I like your house and I was going to say that it gave me an idea of what to do with my full house and stairs issue, but there would still be stairs.  ::) Derp.... It's tough to think through a chronic headache. :D

Yeah, anything with a foundation needs to have stairs up to it.  As I don't think they do ramps in Sims 3.

Although thinking about one of your old builds gave me an idea of maybe trying to bring up the terrain to the height of the foundation. Not sure if that would help, but it might be worth trying, at least testing wise.

I don't think I'd like the way that would look. It would change the whole appearance of the house. I was being facetious anyway. :D
I just had to boot out a squatter from the house that I was testing roof trim on. Maybe I'll just start plopping down random houses and let RV populate itself. (being facetious again. :D )

I've often asked myself how much custom content is too much. I never really found an answer other than it depends on what your computer can handle. No generally speaking - rule of thumb type thing.

Thanks to Nindigo for sharing some information on this. I went digging for more information and wanted to share what I found.

How Much Custom Content is too Much?

Finding this info has really helped get a better understanding and has taught me to be more watchful of how much content I do add to my game. :)

Thanks for this. I don't have much more than 350MB in my mods folder but I am experiencing so lag and frustration with being unable to place roof decor properly. I was just puttering around and "fixing" things today but I noticed I have a lot of duplicate decor items so I'm going to go through my CC and eliminate a bunch of stuff.
Does anyone have the camera mod that was suggested by MrsGoodwrench a while back? I have it in my mods folder but it doesn't seem to do much. I struggle with the swinging camera and the lags when I'm recoloring objects.

You're welcome!! :)

I haven't tried the camera mod(s) MrsGoodWrench had suggested. I'm not sure if they would really help with building.

Removing some of the CC should help with recoloring items. At least it did for me. I'm not sure if there's anything that can help the swinging/bouncing camera in build mode.
